In 2022, 200 years have passed since the birth of Gregor Johann Mendel, who lived and worked in Brno. It was at the Augustinian Abbey in Brno during experiments with peas that he made his breakthrough discoveries in the field of genetic information transmission. Institutions from Brno and the entire Czech Republic participated in the preparation of the celebrations. Their goal is to educate and remind Mendel’s legacy among people from the region, the Czech Republic and abroad.
