This non-competitive fireworks at Spilberk Castle is called Gaudeamus Igitur, which is also the name of the unofficial student anthem song. In the fireworks music, the MENDELU rector’s fanfare will be heard and viewers will see the theme of Mendel’s genetics experiments among others.
The fireworks will finish the main day of the 100th anniversary of Mendel University in Brno. On June 15th, the university will hold the Reunion of the Century and MENDELU FEST in the neighboring stadium Za Lužánkami, where, for example, singer Aneta Langerová will perform. “Immediately after her concert, the festival’s visitors can move to our Botanical garden and arboretum and watch the fireworks, which start at 10:30 pm, from there,” said MENDELU spokesman Filip Vrána.
