The competition, which aims to support students’ ideas and put them into practice, was held online due to current coronavirus measures. The jury chose Woodbag as the most interesting handmade wooden backpacks, the program of functional herd registration, which helps breeders to improve the overview of their animals, and products from herbs, fruits and vegetables called Liška domácí, also succeeded. In addition to MENDELU representatives, experts from the JIC innovation agency also took part in the selection of winners.
“The evaluation criteria were primarily the quality of the business idea, its potential, and reality, the achievability of goals, and the ability to present the business idea,” said Vojtěch Adam, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation. Vít Hanák from JIC, who participated in the evaluation of projects, adds: “We know many successful entrepreneurs who started working on their idea during their studies. That is why close cooperation with universities is crucial to us. We can support students in their intention right at the beginning of their business careers.”
