Mendel University in Brno develops long-term international cooperation with Peruvian universities, esp. with the Universidad Nacional de San Martín – Tarapoto (UNSM) and Universidad Andina del Cusco (UAC). Last year, the students and staff from FRDIS MENDELU visited aforementioned universities. At the turn of January and February 2017, thanks to the great support of Department of International Relations and Internationalization MENDELU two foreign professors, Dr. Benedicta Urruita Soledad Mellado (UAC) and Dr. Carlos Rengifo Saavedra (UNSM) could come to visit us as part of Erasmus KA1 program. The primary objective of their visit was to develop cooperation both at the national (ie. Peruvian) and international level. All interested parties are wishing to continue mobilities of academics and students and implement a joint scientific research project on food security in selected Peruvian indigenous communities. The proposal for this project has been already created. In addition to the aforementioned universities, Universidad de Valencia, Universidad Católica de Valencia and Universidad Politécnica de Valencia are going to participate in its implementation.
