From 30 March to 5 April 2016, Mendel University in Brno was visited by Finnish delegates from Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK).

This university, our important Erasmus partner, has included MENDELU in the group of strategic partners for establishing a closer partnership in the future. The scope of joint activities will focus on promoting student and staff mobility, developing scientific and research collaborations, and cooperation in applied sciences.

Following the cooperation negotiations, the Finnish delegation visited several departments and units at the Faculty of AgriSciences and the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, had a tour of the departments of the Faculty of Horticulture, and met the representatives of all faculties, the Technology Transfer Department and the CEITEC Institute to discuss all plans and ideas in more detail. The delegates also visited the university farm in the village of Žabčice and our campus in Lednice. New cooperation has been taking shape in the fields of bioeconomics (FBE), horticulture, garden architecture and landscaping (FH), food and environmental technologies (FAS), geographical information systems and wood technology (FFWT) and sustainable development (FRDIS).
