The conference was opened by Hana Středová, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of AgriSciences at Mendel University in Brno (MENDELU), who highlighted the project’s contribution to the development of modern education at the university. Keynote speakers included Jarka Chloupková from the European Parliament, Dragan Savić from the University of Exeter, and Albert Chen, also from the University of Exeter.
The conference programme was divided into several thematic blocks:
Participants had the opportunity to explore the results of pilot studies, experience the virtual learning environment ViLE, and engage in interactive workshops focused on capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and institutional transformation.
The closing part of the conference was dedicated to reflecting on the achievements and discussing future collaboration opportunities in the field of digital water education. According to the MENDELU project team leader, Milada Šťastná from the Department of Applied and Landscape Ecology (there were two faculties involved in the project Faculty of Agriscience and Faculty of Business and Economics), “The WATERLINE project has not only contributed to the innovation of educational methods, but also laid the foundation for long-term partnerships across European institutions to establish the Digital Water Higher Education Alliance.”
