The exhibition was created in close cooperation with the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at MENDELU. It connects the phenomenon of the forest with the history of society. The exhibition prepared by the Brno City Museum will run from 7 September 2023 to 30 June 2024.
The exhibition chronologically and thematically presents the development of forests and human activities related to forests in the surroundings of the city of Brno and in the context of South Moravia. It should provide visitors with a comprehensive understanding of an ecosystem that has fascinated mankind since its inception.
The authors of the exhibition look at the forest from different angles, as people have looked at it over the centuries. The forest as a resource base, a spiritual space or a place of relaxation and rest, and more. The visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the forests around Brno and in the context of South Moravia in terms of their development and human influence in seven rooms divided chronologically and thematically.
