Mendel Festival celebrates 10 years. This year’s jubilee edition of the Mendel Festival will be held in grand style. For the tenth time, it will commemorate the legacy of Gregor Johann Mendel, the founder of genetics, who was based in Brno. This year, the festival will once again combine science, faith and fun – and once again it will be completely free of charge.

The main festival day, Saturday 19 July 2025, will now take place at the University campus at Bohunice. The main stage will be located at the Faculty of Sports Studies of MU, the professional programme will offer lectures in the premises of CEITEC MU and visitors can also look forward to guided tours of the Anatomical Museum and the Simulation Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of MU.

The Mendel Festival is a unique opportunity to commemorate the scientific and human legacy of one of Brno’s most important personalities. The programme will be particularly vibrant and varied this year.
