The first project focuses on improving the university’s infrastructure, enhancing the efficiency and quality of teaching, and increasing the attractiveness, safety, and comfort of studying. MENDELU has secured a budget of nearly CZK 385 million for these renovations.
“The largest investments are directed towards the modernization of the university-wide library and the renovation of Building K, where the MENDELU Innovation Hub will be established. This new center will serve as a space for student projects, integrating educational, study, and innovation-oriented areas. Additionally, other educational spaces that are currently unused, inadequate, or poorly equipped will be renovated,” explained Pavlína Adam, Vice-Rector for Creative Activities. The project will also focus on upgrading, expanding, and significantly improving laboratory and technical equipment.
The second project, aimed at equality, inclusion, and accessibility across the Mendel University campus in Brno, has been granted nearly CZK 20 million. “This project includes modifications to ensure barrier-free access, improve navigation within the campus, provide specialized equipment for students with specific needs, enhance advisory services, and implement structural and technical adjustments to improve the comfort of the target group,” Adam elaborated.
The third project, dedicated to fostering a sustainable and modern academic environment, has been approved with a budget of nearly CZK 80 million. It focuses on developing pedagogical and didactic competencies among academic staff, improving the quality of education, refining internal quality assessment processes, revising the study structure, and addressing study attrition. “New study programs will be introduced, while some existing ones will be adjusted. Additionally, new promotional materials and methodologies for working with students with specific needs will be created,” stated the Vice-Rector for Creative Activities.
