As part of the Adapterra Awards 2024 competition, which aims to recognize the best examples of climate change adaptation, the project Complete Green Transformation of the Town of Úvaly won in the Settlements category. This project, implemented progressively since 2016, represents a systematic and conceptual approach to urban greenery in response to climate challenges. The expert jury particularly appreciated the well-designed master plan and its application, which has brought new green elements to the town in line with sustainable development and ecological principles.
Another award-winning project is the Garden of Green Rooms, which earned a bronze medal in the Garden of the Year 2024 competition organized by the Association for Landscaping and Maintenance. This project presents a creative solution for a sloped property, transformed into a fully functional family space with thoughtfully designed zones for relaxation, play, and utility. The garden employs a diverse range of plants, offering aesthetic appeal year-round, while green roofs retain rainwater and enhance the ecological value of the space.
“Today, we celebrate and enjoy a truly wonderful feeling from long-term work. We won the Adapterra Awards 2024 competition, showcasing the best examples of how our cities can adapt to climate change. We competed with our beloved project: the Complete Green Transformation of the Town of Úvaly, on which we’ve been working with many amazing people since 2016. Thanks to everyone, especially the former mayor of Úvaly,” said Lukáš Štefl. Both projects demonstrate the importance of a responsible and well-thought-out approach to public and private spaces, with the ultimate reward being enthusiastic and satisfied users.
